Lab Exercises in Astronomy: The Wilson-Bappu Effect

In this astronomy lab exercise, students will measure stellar spectra and calculate their distance via an empirical relation known as the Wilson-Bappu effect. Students should have little trouble completing this exercise in two hours, but it may be shortened if necessary.
